SPYRIDOULA ARAPOGIANNI

Spyridoula Arapogianni is of Constantinopolitan origin. She was born in Tashkent where her parents were political refuges after their engagement with the Greek Resistance during the Second World War.

Spyridoula, is a graduate of the National Musical School (piano and violin) and she holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Metsovio Technical University of Athens.

She worked as an Electrical Engineer in the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and Environment as well as at the National Electrical Power Company of Greece (ΔΕΗ).

After retirement she has become a co-founder of Hera Assets Limited.

 

VEDAT YELKENCI

Vedat Yelkenci was born in Istanbul. He is the grandson of deceased Lutfi Yelkenci; a prominent Turkish Shipowner and Co-founder of the first Turkish commercial bank Turkiye Is Bankasi.

Vedat was educated in the United Kingdom and started his career in the Yelkenci Family Ship-Owning business in London.

He is the founder of many telecommunications and media-broadcasting ventures. He executed and delivered major turn-key radio communications and telecommunications systems for the Turkish Armed Forces, Ministry of Interior, the Turkish Police Force and major private and public corporations in Turkey.

As the exclusive representative of the US Satellite Company founded by J.F. Kennedy in 1963, Comsat Corporation and the founder of Comsat Digital Services Inc. in Turkey he provided numerous turn-key satellite communications and defense systems and services to the Turkish Armed Forces, Turkish PTT and the state owned Turkish Radio Television Corporation. Comsat Turkey launched the first privately owned leased lines services business, the first Build-Operate-Transfer project of its kind in Turkey.

In the United Kingdom, He launched international Voip call termination services and several digital media businesses.

On the media-broadcasting front, Vedat initially produced TV series and programming and he was the exclusive representative of CNN in Turkey for many years. He joint-ventured with Rupert Murdoch to own and operate a pay TV service in Turkey as well as with the Richemont Luxury goods group and the UPC/Chello Group to launch cable TV and subscription services.

He launched/owned the first Turkish Music TV; Genc TV, thereafter, MTV Turkey/Number one MTV, Nickelodeon, Discovery Channels and several thematic TV and Radio stations in Turkey.

After having sold his interests in telecom and media, he invested in high-end residential developments focusing in prime central London.

He is a serial entrepreneur, currently providing mentoring and consultancy as well as start-up finance to young entrepreneurs in London.
